Hello Natividad Family,
Hospital Week
I hear everyone enjoyed the food, Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider and Hospital Week contests. I know it wasn’t the same kind of celebration that we normally do, but I hope you know we appreciate you all. It’s been a crazy few months, and thank you for remaining so dedicated to the work you do. I am seriously impressed by our talented staff and entirely amused by the videos we received for the Masked Singer.
Please check out the video we put together to thank you. You can watch here or on SharePoint.
Clocking In
Starting Wednesday, our clocks will begin asking COVID-19 screening questions as well as workplace violence questions. I sure appreciate everyone’s help and cooperation with this.
Elective Surgeries
As of today, we are beginning to offer some elective surgeries. We are prioritizing time-sensitive non-emergency surgeries and procedures as well as medically necessary preventative services. We plan to incrementally reopen surgical services following state and federal regulations and guidelines to ensure our patients, staff, and community's health and safety. As Dr. Alex Di Stante says, “Elective procedures are by definition scheduled; however, this does not mean they are unnecessary or not time-sensitive. Elective procedures can only be delayed for some time before the risk of adverse outcomes results from the delay.”
Welcome Christopher D. Appleton, DO
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Christopher Appleton as our new Pathologist. He will be working with fellow Pathologist Dr. George Wilcox. You may have also heard that Dr. John Jameson retired from Natividad after a 30+ year career with us. That is something to be very proud of and he will be deeply missed.
Dr. Appleton is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. He is a Fellow and Active Inspector at the College of American Pathologists. Dr. Appleton is certified by the American Board of Pathology and holds medical licenses in California, Vermont and New Hampshire.
Dr. Appleton’s first day was Monday. We are delighted to have Dr. Appleton on our team!
