Thank you all for your hard work. Because of you, we are more prepared than ever to take on the coronavirus threat. I have just a few Friday updates for you today:

Matsui Nursery Sends Love and Orchids

A huge thanks to Matsui Nursery for their incredibly generous donation of 800 orchids for our frontline health care workers! In fact, Matsui Nursery was so generous, that they also donated orchids to SVMH and CHOMP. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we are grateful for this little ray of beauty and sunshine. If you didn’t get your orchid yesterday, please pick your orchid up starting NOW: TODAY, Friday, April 3 at the Volunteer Auxiliary building. We’ll give them away until they’re gone!

Day Care for Frontline Workers

Did you know that child care is available for essential workers medical workers like you? The YMCA, Heart and Hands, Mi Casa es Su Casa Home Day Care, The Nest Family Day Care, Janet Sullivan, Kids at Play and Northminster Day Care Center. A huge thanks to each of these care providers for helping us stay on the frontlines. Stress Management and Resilience Toolkit

The County of Monterey Human Resources Department created a Stress Management and Resilience Toolkit that can be accessed on the HRD website at:

All employees are invited to access the HRD online Stress Management and Resilience Toolkit as it contains a wealth of resources that you may find beneficial.

A selection of  free online resources such as TED Talks and YouTube videos, podcasts, articles and tools are now available from the HRD website. Several resources are COVID-19 related and sources include the American Psychological Association, UC Berkeley, and the Mayo Clinic.

Topics and Tools include:

  •      How to be your best self during a crisis
  •      Talking to your children about COVID-19
  •      Learn what Anderson Cooper, over 50K Google employees and many others do to help manage stress​

Do you love to document things? Are you an amateur photographer? We invite you to grab your iPhone at work and take pics of your fellow frontline health workers in action. Please send images to Hillary Fish at fishh@natividad.com. Note we may use your photo for marketing purposes, such as ads and Facebook posts. Don’t forget to tell us who is in the photo and add a caption if you would like. Please do not take any photos of patients.
